Portable Sinks

Many childcare owners often rent their facilities and have a hard time meeting all of the licensing codes required by law. An example of some of the codes these childcare facilities face are like the grounds do not have enough play area; the steps are too high, or the restrooms do not meet ADA standards. One of the most costly codes to adhere to are plumbing codes. Meeting these types of licensing codes include installing new restrooms, or placing hand-washing stations in rooms or areas that do not already have plumbing. We have found an excellent solution to meeting these hand-washing standards- portable sinks. Yes, portable sinks. Hot and cold running water that can be placed in any room. It was by chance that I heard about them.

Since being in childcare means you have to keep your credits current, the local referral agency offered a one-day classroom accreditation, where you could earn points towards your yearly credit total. At the seminar we learned about these portable sinks and how they helped others meet hand-washing code. Renting my own facility meant after licensing changed the hand-washing code for infant and toddler rooms, it was going to cost me over $5,000 to install the plumbing for one sink. I was floored, I did not even own the building, and did not have enough in the bank to even begin to hire a plumber. I did not know what I was going to do until I went to the childcare seminar and learned about these portable sinks for hand-washing.

The agency facilitating the seminar was also offering information on education grants that could be used for improving facilities that educated and fed children. The $1,000 grants could be used for any improvements in childcare facilities that included health and safety. I asked my accreditation teacher if these could be used to purchase a portable sink, she said yes. I ordered my portable sink from Ozark River Portable Sinks, and found they could ship my sink direct to me. The next time my licensing agent arrived for a visit, I passed my inspection with flying colors. One of the best things about this sink, is that I am moving into new, larger facility in a few months, I can take the portable sink with me.

Customize Your Home Pool Table with Customized Pool Balls

There are a lot of ways that you can use customized products and accessories to really express your unique personality in the set up of your home billiards room but one of the most fun ways to express yourself when it comes to billiards accessories is customized pool balls.  Customized pool balls are relatively inexpensive.  They range in price depending on the design and materials used but in general a set of custom pool balls is a pretty cheap way to dress up your billiards table.  You can even have different sets of pool balls for different things.  You can have a set of billiard balls engraved with your name or initials, or you can have a set with the logo of your favorite team printed on them, of you can have a set inlaid with some fancy decorative work.  You could even have different sets of pool balls for each holiday and have one with Christmas trees on them, one with turkeys on them for Thanksgiving, one with bunnies for Easter, or ones with fireworks or a flag for the Fourth of July.  Or, get a set of balls printed with family photos.  The only limit is your imagination.

The three main methods used to create customized pool balls are printing or sublimation, engraving and inlay.  Of the three main methods used inlay is the most expensive because inlays are often hand done by trained craftspeople and require a lot of time and effort and fine materials in order to do well. Inlaying will produce the highest quality pool balls, but some people don’t want to pay the high costs of getting a custom set of inlaid balls.  Inlaid balls will usually last the longest because they are so well made but engraved pool balls also tend to last a long time.  Price wise engraved balls are in the middle of the price spectrum and most people that want to have customized balls buy engraved balls if the balls are going to get used a lot.  If you only really use your billiards table when the family is over you can easily get by with customized balls that have been printed or sublimated.  If you use your billiards table regularly and practice on it 3-4 times a week you can get by with engraved balls.  But if you play every night and hold tournaments at your home on weekends or always have friends dropping by to play billiards then you should splurge on the inlaid pool balls to make sure that the balls can stand up to the wear and tear you’ll be putting them through. If you plan on opening your own billiards hall and you want customized balls you should probably get a few sets of customized inlaid pool table balls and save them for tournament play.  It’s really not going to be cost effective in the long run for you to have your customers playing with customized balls on a daily basis because you will need to replace the balls pretty often if they are getting used for hours every day.
